Sowmya Achanta

Sowmya Achanta is a Manager of AI Solutions at Shore Capital, a lower middle-market private equity firm focused on partnering with companies that have between $1–10 million of EBITDA.

 

Prior to joining Shore Capital Partners, Sowmya held several roles at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, where she led the development and scaling of enterprise data and AI products across the BCBS system. Her work focused on advancing AI/ML capabilities, including launching a national generative AI collaborative and driving product strategy for internally developed AI solutions and a community health data platform to improve clinical and operational decision-making.

 

Earlier in her career, Sowmya was at Atlas Research, where she supported federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Defense, and NATO on healthcare policy, analytics, and program strategy.

 

Her work contributed to national initiatives in price transparency, health equity, and population health.

 

Sowmya holds a Master of Public Health and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Michigan State University.
