Bio
Michael is an Executive Partner and began working with Shore Capital in 2011. He guides Shore’s strategic planning, talent development and research teams that serve the firm’s portfolio. Michael is also on the faculty at Vanderbilt University where he teaches Healthcare Economics and Launching New Ventures in the Owen Graduate School of Management. Burcham has led three private equity backed businesses to successful exits as CEO – Theraphysics (a physical therapy consolidation), ParadigmHealth (a care management business) and Narus Health (a healthcare concierge organization serving self-insured employers). Michael was also the founding President and CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center from 2010 – 2015, helping foster the city’s explosive growth. Michael served as the Co-Chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 2014-2016 and has been named Nashvillian of the Year and Tennessean of the Year.
Michael graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1983. Michael also holds an M.B.A. from Belmont University and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
