Bio
Dan has 40+ years of experience in leading transformative change in the food & beverage industries. His expertise in value creation is well documented as he has successfully completed four turnarounds, which all led to value-added exits. He currently is an operating partner for both Shore Capital Partners and Ronin Equity Partners. Most recently, Dan was the CMO for The Fresh Market and led their branding, merchandising and marketing efforts as well as serving in an instrumental role in the sale process to a strategic buyer. Prior to this, Dan was the Chief Merchandising & Marketing Officer for Winn Dixie, where he created new store formats, overhauled merchandising efforts, and brought transformational leadership to help turnaround the company from bankruptcy to its eventual sale to a private equity buyer. Previously, he was President & CEO of Kings / Balducci’s, a division of Marks & Spencer, and led the sale of the company to a private equity buyer. Dan’s career also includes experience in the CPG sector as he was the SVP Sales & Marketing for Cott Corp in Toronto (the world’s largest producer of retail beverages) and was a Group Vice President for Daymon Worldwide, the leading private label marketing firm. He now is active in advisory work, specializing in sales & marketing opportunities in the retail / CPG space.
